NIGHT HIKE SERIES
OVERVIEW
Full moons, starry nights, city lights! Some of the fantastic sights that can be seen on our night hikes while enjoying all the night life found on the mountains and along the trails! It’s great to get out in the dark and see the hills from a different perspective. It’s also a brilliant way to build up confidence of walking in the dark without having to navigate yourself. Our qualified walking leaders will share information, tips and tricks and guide you through the night!
Please note that these hikes will require you to bring a headtorch with you.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Night Hike - The Spinc, Glendalough, Co. Wicklow
When: Saturday 09th of May 7pm - 12pm
Where: Spinc, Glendalough, Co. Wicklow.
Difficulty: 13kms, 450m Ascent. Track, Mountain Trail. Aimed at Beginners. Graded: Moderate.
Hike Information: Starting before dark we will head out into the Glendalough valley to complete the famous Spinc hiking route. If the "stars" align a sunset and a star filled sky will provide the backdrop to this fun night hike with some "dark" stories included.

- Hiking boots - It can be wet and boggy with off trail sections and open mountainside.
- Clothing suitable for hiking/sport - Avoid cotton/ jeans etc.
- Raingear - Waterproof jacket and leggings.
- Water & Nutrition/Food/Snacks.
- Extra layers such as a fleece jumper.
- Hat & gloves.
- SPF - even if it’s not sunny.
- Bug spray - There can be midge and ticks from spring to autumn.
- Any medications you may need.
- Small rucksack to hold the above items.
- Spare clothing such as socks/tops/bottoms/shoes for after the hike - you don’t need to carry these, leave them in the car for your return.
- Trekking poles if you normally use them.
