NATURE AND WELLNESS WALKS
OVERVIEW
We don’t always need to be summiting mountains, sometimes a gentle walk in nature is what our mind and body need! Walking in nature has been proven to improve our immune system, help reduce stress, help us sleep better and gives us plenty of endorphins that make us happy.
These walks are all about nature and immersing ourselves within it. We will walk at a casual pace making plenty of stops to point out flora and fauna along the way. Our qualified walking leaders have a wealth of information so you will be going home with plenty of facts about our amazing plants and animals! So, join us for a couple of hours of moving your body, learning some new things and appreciating nature together!
PROGRAM DETAILS
Walk 1: Hills and Uplands
When: Sunday 15th March 10am - 1pm
Where: Trooperstown, Co. Wicklow.
Difficulty: 10kms, 370m Ascent. Track and Trail, rough underfoot in places. Aimed at Beginners. Graded: Easy.
Walk Focus: Explore our hills and uplands along with the flora and fauna that make them their home. Our walk focus will be on this sensitive habitat and how it can be protected.
Walk 2: Spring Woodland Walk
When: Saturday 28th March 10am - 1pm
Where: Clara Vale, Co. Wicklow.
Difficulty: 8kms, 160m Ascent. Track and Trail. Aimed at Beginners. Graded: Easy.
Walk Focus: A chance to get out and explore early spring in woodlands. Taking you through an ancient woodland we will show you what's already blooming and go through some tips, tricks and things to watch out for as Spring starts, such as floral keys and books, phone apps and ancient woodland indicators.
Walk 3: Ancient Woodland and Bluebells
When: Saturday 2nd May 10am - 1pm
Where: Clara Vale, Co. Wicklow.
Difficulty: 8kms, 160m Ascent. Track and Trail. Aimed at Beginners. Graded: Easy.
Walk Focus: A chance to get out and explore early spring in woodlands. Taking you through ancient woodland we will show you what's blooming, including stunning swathes of Bluebells!

- Professional and qualified Mountain Leader.
- First aid trained and certified leader to REC 3/ Wilderness First Aid 3 standard.

- Personal equipment as listed in the "required equipment" list.
- Food and refreshments.

- Personal accident insurance.
- Hiking boots - It can be wet and boggy with off trail sections and open mountainside.
- Clothing suitable for hiking/sport - Avoid cotton/ jeans etc.
- Raingear - Waterproof jacket and leggings.
- Water & Nutrition/Food/Snacks.
- Extra layers such as a fleece jumper.
- Hat & gloves.
- SPF - even if it’s not sunny.
- Bug spray - There can be midge and ticks from spring to autumn.
- Any medications you may need.
- Small rucksack to hold the above items.
- Spare clothing such as socks/tops/bottoms/shoes for after the hike - you don’t need to carry these, leave them in the car for your return.
- Trekking poles if you normally use them.
