WALKING ROUTE
Hike to the summit of Fairy Castle and Tibradden at Dublins popular Ticknock mountain area. Explore ancient history with a Neolithic passage tomb and an open passage cairn, these summits on Dublin’s doorstep are steeped in history ready to be explored. This fantasic beginner hike follows mountain road, track and trails with stunning views of the Dublin mountains and at over Dublin Bay. This hike is ideal for beginners looking to explore and learn more about this wonderful Dublin Mountains.
Throughout the walk we will discuss some of the wonderful flora, fauna and history found in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains. We take plenty of breaks for photos, snacks and water. We will keep a slow pace. This hike is graded moderate and a beginner levels of fitness is required. Our route may vary depending on weather and underfoot conditions. - Hiking boots - It can be wet and boggy with off trail sections and open mountainside.

- Extra layers such as a fleece jumper.
- Hat & gloves.
- SPF - even if it’s not sunny.
- Bug spray - There can be midge and ticks from spring to autumn.
- Any medications you may need.
- Small rucksack to hold the above items.
- Spare clothing such as socks/tops/bottoms/shoes for after the hike - you don’t need to carry these, leave them in the car for your return.
- Trekking poles if you normally use them.
